Founded in 2001 as a bluegrass-only event, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has morphed into easily the premier free festival in the country offering a diverse roster of roots, Americana, rock and folk. The free festie is celebrating its tenth anniversary and recently revealed their highly impressive line up which will feature sets from am amazing number of HT faves including Umphrey’s McGee, Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band, The Felice Brothers, Gillian Welch, The Avett Brothers and Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes. The all free festival will again take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on October 1, 2 & 3 – oh and did we mention its free.

If you can’t make it out to Golden Gate Park, for what should be an amazing weekend of music, than maybe you’ll be able to hit one of these recently announced tours…

Finally, in true jamband fashion HT faves Perpetual Groove have announced the details of their lengthy fall -> winter tour. The Athens-based act, who have a handful of summer dates still on the docket including a stop at the new  Snow Ridge Music Festival, will hit the ground running on September 7 with a tour opening show at The Dixie in Tuscaloosa, AL. P-Groove will also spend two-nights in the New York City area with shows at the Bowery Ballroom and Brooklyn Bowl on September 24 and 25 respectively.
