Tour Dates: QOTSA To Play QOTSA

While the merits of playing full album shows have their pros and cons, it seems as if the trend is still one that music fans are enthusiastic about. The latest band to throw its hat into the ring is stoner-rock act Queens Of The Stone Age, who have announced that in conjunction with the expanded reissue of its 1998 self-titled debut that the group will play it in its entirety when they head out on the road in May during a tour of Europe. The band, whose members have been concentrating on side-projects over the last handful of years, have also revealed that they will be heading into the studio to record their first album of new material since 2007’s Era Vulgaris.

Finally, as the Allman Brothers Band prepare to return to the Beacon Theatre for a 13-show run next month, the band’s slide-guitar whiz Derek Trucks has announced plans to head out with his wife – Susan Tedeschi. The husband and wife duo, who will be joined on the road by Oteil & Kofi Burbridge, Tyler Greenwell, JJ Johnson, Mike Mattison and Mark Rivers, will play dates both here and abroad, mixing clubs dates along with a handful of festival appearances.
