Last week we shared the news that the Pixies’ plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their epic album Doolittle with some European tour dates. This week in Pixies-related news comes word the band’s bass player, Kim Deal, has announced plans to hit the road with her other band – The Breeders – this August. The band has lined up a 16 date run that includes a two-night stand at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on August 18 and 19, with Whispertown 2000 and New Times Viking splitting opening duties.

Finally, in what is sure to be one of the more buzzed about tours of the fall, the trio of HT faves Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad and the awesomely named We Were Promised Jetpacks will head out together for string of shows this September. The three FatCat Records recording artists will kick off their mostly West Coast and Southwest tour on September 14.
