We keep our eyes peeled for new tour dates announcements each week and compile them on Tuesdays for this handy column…

Considering all the buzz they’ve received over the past few months and the gigs they’ve played supporting the likes of The Decemberists, Iron & Wine and Death Cab For Cutie,  it’s hard to believe that The Head And The Heart have yet to go out on a headlining tour of their own. The Seattle-based act, who released their self-titled debut earlier this year, will finally embark on their first-ever headlining run this fall, with Thao and the Get Down Stay Down offering support.

The action starts at One Eyed Jack’s in New Orleans on September 20 and also includes an impressive three-night run in NYC, with a gig at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg (9/26) and two gigs across the river at the Bowery Ballroom (9/27 & 28). Head over to the band’s Facebook page for the initial list of tour stops to which TH&TH promise more will be added in the coming weeks.

If you’re not into a night with folk-pop act, then maybe you’ll be interested in hitting one of these recently announced tours…
