Despite his all too brief recording career, Jeff Buckley’s lone studio release 1994′s instant classic – Grace - earned the singer-songwriter a fervent fan base that were enamored by his powerful and dynamic vocals. The life of Buckley, who unexpectedly drowned in the Wolf River in 1997 during the recording sessions for his sophomore album, will be the subject of not one, but two biopics that will be heading to the big screen. While the officially sanctioned one has yet to begin filming, the second, entitled Greetings From Tim Buckley, was recently screened at the Toronto Film Festival. The film, which doesn’t feature any of Buckley’s music, focuses on the days leading up his 1991 breakout performance at a tribute concert for his father – folk-singer Tim Buckley – at Brooklyn’s Saint Anne’s Warehouse.
