UM @ Red Rocks & 30db News

We figured we’d kill two Umphrey’s McGee-related birds with one stone as the band has just announced their first headlining gig at Red Rocks while details of UM guitarist Brendan Bayliss’s album with Jeff Austin of Yonder Mountain String Band have been released. Also, Bayliss and Austin played their first gig together in quite some time last night at Schuba’s in Chicago.

As far as the Red Rocks show, Umphrey’s will team up with Galactic and The Wailers to rock the scenic venue on July 3rd. Both Galactic and Umphrey’s will also perform more intimate shows at the Gothic Theatre in Denver with Galactic taking the Gothic’s stage on July 2 and Umphrey’s getting their shot on July 4. The Red Rocks event, which will be called Red Rocks and Blue, goes on sale Saturday at noon. Fans can vote on which tune Galactic and Umphrey’s will team up to cover on the 3rd through this web page. The folks at CID Entertainment have put together a few travel packages for those flying in for the shows.

Last night in Chicago, 30db featuring Bayliss and Austin, performed a number of tunes from their upcoming album, One Man Show, which drops on May 11. The group also covered songs from the likes of Bob Seger (Night Moves), The Beatles (Don’t Let Me Down), Beck (Jack-Ass) and Modest Mouse (The Good Times Are Killing Me). 30db hits the road in May for a few assorted dates in the Midwest, out in Colorado and on the West Coast.

  1. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Thanks
