The early birds (or late-nighters) got the worm this morning as Groupon – Chicago unveiled a deal at 12:06AM offering their users a pair of tickets to see HT faves Umphrey’s McGee at the intimate Lincoln Hall in their hometown of Chicago on October 19, along with a copy of the group’s recently released Death By Stereo LP, for $20. This “surprise” Umphrey’s performance is part of the Groupon Presents … Chicago Music Series. All in all, 400 ticket packages were put up for sale and by 7AM they were sold out.
While the tickets are sold out, Groupon is offering a second Umphrey’s package for $20 that will allow you to download four shows of your choice in MP3 format from the Umphrey’s McGee Live Recordings Archive online. Fans who take advantage will save $20 off the full price ($39.96).
After the Chicago show, next up for Umphrey’s is a trip to their old stomping grounds of Indiana for a Oct. 20th performance in Bloomington.
