The Allman Brothers Band’s March Madness run rolled on last night at the Beacon Theatre, where the legendary jam act welcomed Grace Potter, James van der Bogert and Randall Bramblett for a smoking version of Neil Young’s Southern Man that kicked off the electric segment of the second set. As noted by Jambands.com in their full recap of yesterday’s show, none of the group’s founding members were on stage for the Allman’s debut of Southern Man as van der Bogert and Marc Quinones spelled Butch Trucks and Jaimoe on drums, while Bramblett (and Potter for a few minutes) handled keys duties instead of Gregg Allman.
