It’s only fitting that an artist as quintessentially American as Bruce Springsteen has not one but two songs about the Fourth of July. Not only did The Boss pen 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) in 1973 for The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle, he also wrote the more tender Independence Day for The River in 1980.
