Video: Carolina Chocolate Drops – Country Girl

Back in 2010, the Carolina Chocolate Drops garnered a healthy dose of attention thanks in part to their infectious bluegrass take on Blu Cantrell’s Hit ’em Up Style.The three-piece folk act have gone through a lineup change since then, but continue to celebrate and champion the traditions of the early 20th century African American jug and string bands. Earlier this year the Chocolate Drops released Leaving Eden, their sophomore effort for Nonesuch Records, and have recently released the music video for the album’s lead single Country Girl, which extolls all the virtues of growing up and living in the South.
