Last Christmas, we got our first taste of new music from Cat Power in quite some time, when she dropped the seven-plus minute charity single King Ride By. Along with that, we also got the news that she was in the midst of putting the finishing touches on a new studio album, her first since 2008′s covers record Jukebox. Roughly nine months later, Cat Power has released Sun, her ninth studio effort, and first set of originally material in over six years.The record see her stepping away from her Southern soul sound of her last few records, and offering up a set of electonica-influenced tunes. Last week the newly blonde Chan Marshall dropped this self-directed post-apocalyptic, zombie filled video for the album’s lead single Cherokee. Let’s check it out…
