Yesterday, Jambands.com tipped us off to a distinct take on the Clash’s London Calling deep cut, Death and Glory, performed by Jesse Malin and Bob Weir at TRI. This unique and slowed down arrangement of the Joe Strummer retrospective provides an opportunity to focus on what some Clash fans think are Strummer’s best lyrics. The collaboration also has thematic overtones given it’s two musicians who have never catered to the mainstream singing a song about selling out in adulthood.
