For the past two nights Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe teamed up with members of Slightly Stoopid to pay tribute to the music of the Beastie Boys at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, Calif. The performances mixed B Boys vocal tracks with the group’s instrumentals as well as plenty of KDTU material.

For the Beastie Boys covers that included lyrics, Slightly Stoopid members Kyle McDonald, Dela and OG handled most of the vocals. Among the tunes the ensemble tackled were No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Brass Monkey, Fight For Your Right to Party and Intergalactic. Kyle, Dela and OG dressed the part too, switching from gold chains and Adidas for the earlier License to Ill material to outfits reminiscent of the Intergalactic video for later material.
