When we first mentioned the name Kurt Vile, it was back in January of 2009 as part of a Blips piece on the band The War On Drugs, a group that he helped found. In the two-plus years since that write up, Vile left the band to go solo, putting out four albums on his own. His latest is the critically lauded Smoke Ring For My Halo, which features Vile’s hazy brand of swirling, lo-fi psychedelic music.
