Video: Phish – 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover

Two of my worlds collided last night when Phish unveiled a cover of Paul Simon’s 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover last night at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA. Surprisingly, drummer Jon Fishman handled the vocals and while he struggled at times singing and playing Steve Gadd’s famous drum line at the same time, overall the debut was a win. For more on this cover read ZZYZX’s Song History at Phish.net, which was up a few hours after the show. Here’s a clip of Phish performing 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover…

Phish – 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover

When I heard Phish had soundchecked 50 Ways at The Gorge, I wondered how Fish would pull off Gadd’s part on such a huge drum set. My question was answered by the use of a mini-kit that was set up center stage.
