String Cheese Incident’s Summer Tour rolled through California over the weekend for stops at the state’s two Greek Theatres – Los Angeles on Friday and Berkeley on Saturday and Sunday. In keeping with a long-standing Berkeley Greek tradition, the jam stalwarts took the stage in the afternoon on Sunday for a matinee performance. SCI kicked off the show with their version of Peter Rowan’s Panama Red into a bluegrass-fueled take on Hotel California by The Eagles. Band members Keith Moseley, Michael Kang, Bill Nershi and Kyle Hollingsworth sang the song’s famed extended guitar interplay in a style similar to what Phish does with their version of Freebird.
