As we’ve previously pointed out all year long, the legacy of Woody Guthrie will be celebrated in honor of the iconic and influential folk singer’s 100th birthday, which would have been tomorrow. Earlier this week, as part of the centennial celebration, Smithsonian Folkways released a new, comprehensive, three-disc 57-track box set entitled Woody at 100: Woody Guthrie Centennial Collection. The set features 21 previously unreleased performances, and six never-before-heard original songs as well as a handful of radio performances.
