Warren and Grace to Co-Host Jammys
Last fall Gov’t Mule and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals teamed up for a memorable cross-country tour. It seems Grace and Warren must’ve hit it off, because they will be co-hosting the 2008 Jammy Awards at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on May 7. This isn’t the pair’s first go-around with the Jammys. Haynes has won four Jammys, while Grace and her band won the New Groove award in 2006. Tickets go onsale today at noon through jammys.com, and at the MSG box office without any surcharges.

As we told you earlier Phish will take home the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s ceremony. Hopefully the folks at Relix can get all four members t0 accept the award in person. And perhaps drop a tasty Harry Hood > Shafty > Harry Hood just for a little taste of what we’ve been missing. The full lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but we never met a Jammys lineup we haven’t liked.

Nice! I saw Grace sing Southern Man with Mule last summer in Boston from the front row of the BOA Pavilion and that was surely a highlight of last year’s concert-going for me…

$65 buckaroos before the fees. Ouch.

Grace better be wearing a mini skirt and those hooker boots

the jammy’s were a great time at msg theatre a few years ago.. but I dont know.. $65 is like 3 or 4 cases of beer. i also think the ‘lifetime achievment award’ is a bit of a contrivance for ticket sales, but if The Phish show up, I’ll eat my words… I will not eat my shoe.

fully agreed neeko.
the publicist for this event is one of the industry’s best. BigHassle PR…
i am absolutely positive that announcement was made to put a ‘Buzz’ on early tix sales. And I know it worked.
as of 12:22, the mosh pit GA section had sold out. In years past, that took quite a while to sell out.
Regardless, count me as one of those suckers. I snagged tix and will be making the trek to NYC>
hood>shafty>hood would be to my liking also btw.

When the clock strikes midnight, that’s May 8th. All off Phish will play in a super jam of Mikes->Scarlett->Fire->Weekapaug.
I got Mosh pit tix too.

I hope to god you all get a video-taped acceptance speech from Gordo, taped on a beach in Saint Croix, and then Brad Sands accepts the award on their behalf.. on the way off stage, laughing, he holds up the Jammy shouting “You already paid us!! hahaha You already paid us!!”

That is foookin hilarious Neeko, minus that snarling condescension in your typing tone of course….haha.
that would be epic though.
hopefully, it’s a tad more like Utica when 3/4 were on stage together for “Boogie On Reggae Woman” encore.

I wonder if we actually have to mosh. If so, I am holding out for carini!

There will be no more condensation in my words. I put on the defroster.

It is pretty funny that it’s called the mosh pit for the Jammy’s. Who comes up with this stuff. This will be my fourth Jammy’s show, all from the pit, and if anything they undersell it so it makes for a great experience. Looking forward to seeing Grace up close…Warren isn’t quite as pretty…
See you all there,

I know that Phish is getting the lifetime achievement award and I’m pretty pumped about that. But, do you suppose any members of the band will be there to accept it. If anyone would be there my best guess would be Mike.
