Thanks, Oliver...believe it or not, I came across that piece of info recently and I circled it in every mental calendar I have. But I just checked my real calendar, and I got nuthin'. So thanks very much for the reminder...I will be there. Awesome!

Not sure where to put this so here goes. Last night I threw in the Otis Redding/Jimi Hendrix disc from Monterrey (disc 2). During Otis' set I thought "Who's this white cat absolutely mauling the bass?" Roll credits. Otis' backing band is not other than Booker T and the MGs featuring the immortal Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass. I know you guys give props to Dunn so here's the big news. Booker T and the MG's with Dunn with vocalist Sharon Jones FREE at Rockefeller park downtown (Chambers St.) next Wednesday 7pm. Part of River to River festival. These legend deserve support, thought you might like to get the word out there.

I love the fact that Townshend's so web accessible (insert underage porn joke here)...and that he doesn't mind giving away state secrets. Big fan of artists taking their message directly to the people -- David Byrne's blog had me at hello for a little while, and I enjoy checking in with genius that way.
