It Takes Two To Make It Out Of Sight…

Mmoss: Only Children

In a year rife with amazing psych-rock albums, perhaps the lava lamp gods have saved the best for last with Mmoss’s debut album. This one is for the jam-lovers, with lots of drawn out passages that bristle with out-of-body energy. These moments have a just-let-the-tape-roll feel, like a bunch of guys turned in towards each other zoned in on the droning groove. Can only imagine what they’re like live… looking forward to finding out someday.

El Ten Eleven: Transitions

We all have our favorites, and El Ten Eleven have been one of mine for a while now. I don’t waste an opportunity to try and sell this amazing guitar/bass-and-drums duo, and their new LP is a perfect place to start. Through a dizzying array of loops and live sampling, these two guys construct some of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring instrumental music. Half Sudoku puzzle, half picturesque vista, this album finds El Ten Eleven at the top of their game.
