Back before mostly everyone besides executives for the major sports leagues grew tired of Robert Randolph, the frontman put aside his Family Band in favor of a short-lived project that garnered nothing but insanely positive reviews. Joined by Chris Chew, Cody and Luther Dickinson and the awesome John Medeski, The Word instantly became one of the best bands on the scene…and for good reason.

And now The Word is back — well, for four special year-end shows. I guess I just had some plans for December 27th made for me.

We have secured a limited amount of pre-sale tickets to offer fans that will go on sale this Saturday, November 3 at 10am EST. Tickets will go on sale to the general public next Friday November 9th.

Slade Sohmer

In 2006 Slade Sohmer founded Hidden Track along with current EiC Scott Bernstein. Slade ran the site until 2008, establishing a scope of coverage and level of professionalism that still exists today. In 2010 Sohmer founded HyperVocal with Lee Brenner and the "purveyors of the vital and viral" have gone on to create a network of highly acclaimed sites that includes Headlines That Suck, Weeping Elvis, Distriction and Spike The Water Cooler.
