Widespread Panic Porch Songs: Grand Junction ’96

Jam titans Widespread Panic have opened the vault for a new Porch Songs live archival release featuring all of the band’s June 10, 1996 performance at Two Rivers Auditorium in Grand Junction, Colorado. Archivist Horace Moore feels this show is “old school defined” and shows off the “musicianship, intent, patience and that unending love between the stage and those lucky enough to have found themselves in Grand Junction on that Monday night.”

1996 was one of Widespread Panic’s busiest years of touring and this gig came smack dab in the middle of a lengthy run that started three weeks prior and wouldn’t end until June 29. This performance features their second-ever cover of the traditional tune Stag-O-Lee as arranged by Professor Longhair, an early take on Blight and the first Bowlegged Woman in 30 shows. Grand Junction ’96 is currently available for purchase through LiveWidespreadPanic.com.
