47 Years Ago Today – Eric Clapton & Ginger Baker Announce Formation of Blind Faith (Watch “Can’t Find My Way Home” Live ’69)

47 years ago today (2/8/69), Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker of Cream announce that they are forming a new group with Steve Winwood of Traffic. Ric Grech later joins on bass, and the group is called Blind Faith. The band, which was one of the first “super-groups”, released their only album, Blind Faith, in August 1969. They were stylistically similar to the bands in which Winwood, Baker, and Clapton had most recently participated, Traffic and Cream. They helped to pioneer the genre of blues/rock fusion. Watch Blind Faith perform “Can’t Find My Way Home” live 1969.
