SONG PREMIERE: Moondog Matinee – “Put Me Right”

Soul/blues-infused rock quintet, Moondog Matinee, are premiering via here at  Glide the track “Put Me Right” from their forthcoming sophomore album, Carry Me, Rosie, due out August 25, 2015.  Lead singer Peter Barnato rekindles the golden era of gritty voice lead singers, while the rest of the band carries a thrusting and quivering ferocity that yearns of Blind Melon and The Black Crowes.

“The song is about love, lust and drugs, and how they are at most times, difficult to differentiate, ” explains the band. “Based on true accounts the song explains the trials and tribulations of young complicated relationships fueled by sex, chemicals and inexperience.”

Developing organically through a network of friends and local musicians, Moondog Matinee formed in 2010 and grew into its current formation which includes Peter Barnato (vocals, guitar, keys), Steve Widmer(guitar), Drea Ballard (guitars, backing vocals), Ben Ingle (drums) and Adam Carpenter (bass, backing vocals). After solidifying the line-up, Moondog Matinee hit the ground – running, writing, recording and touring as much as possible. In 2011, they released their debut album, Vacancy at the Wonder Lodge, and embarked on their first west coast tour. Touring extensively from 2012 to 2014, the band returned to Reno to record their follow-up album Carry Me, Rosie.
